Celebrity Anger Seems to be All the Rage

Hermosa Beach / Beverly Hills, CA (June 9, 2007) – While celebrities have always made news, there has been a rash of recent celebrity anger incidents that indicate the particular need that celebrities have in managing stress and anger effectively. Jason Wahler, Laguna Beach star, is the most recent successor in a wake of falling stars that recently includes Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Naomi Campbell, and Isaiah Washington – all of whom were ordered to attend anger management classes in lieu of more significant punishment.

The Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI) has a 10-week program that specifically addresses anger management for celebrities. The confidential program focuses on increasing personal emotional intelligence, understanding situational triggers for anger and using tools to stop or minimize negative emotional outbursts. Additionally, the celebrity is encouraged to develop a new relationship with their public persona.

Anger is not a pathological condition – it is a skill that can be learned. Society is currently encouraging the expression of feelings for everyone except the celebrity, who has to live under a microscope by virtue of their profession. With education that considers their unique set of circumstances, celebrities find that there is another way to express and handle their emotional energy”, says Anutza Bellissimo, CAMF, Founder and President of SAMI.

New Brown Bag Workshop To Improve Workplace Results

Hermosa Beach / Beverly Hills, CA (June 5, 2007) –   The Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI) has just announced a new four-week 90-minute lunch workshop series designed to teach and support busy employees in getting more positive results in their work environments. The program focuses on increasing emotional intelligence and managing stress to increase productivity. The goal is to eliminate the distraction of misunderstandings, provide the tools for effective communications and emphasize personal accountability.

This workshop includes both pre- and post- assessments to measure the participant’s current ability to function in effective communications, weekly group learning sessions, two workbooks that include didactic information and exercises as well as behavioral strategies, and full access to the SAMI. Circle of Success Membership program.

Asked for a conservative estimate of the monetary payoff from the coaching they got; these managers described an average return of more than $100,000, or about six times what the coaching had cost their companies.", according to Fortune, 2/19/01, "Executive Coaching -- With Returns a CFO Could Love".

“After working with many decision-makers, executives and corporate leaders, I have seen first-hand the need for quick, concise information that can be used immediately to shift focus, increase productivity and enhance morale. When there is investment in what matters, everyone wins”, says Anutza Bellissimo, CAMF.

SAMI Offers Summer Workshops for Adolescents to Learn Stress & Anger Management Skills

Hermosa Beach, CA (May 24, 2007) –   Anutza Bellissimo, Founder of the Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI), has announced a new summer co-ed workshop program to provide adolescents with coping skills, support and social skills. Led by Cinzia Canale, MA, CAMF, Lead Facilitator, the program is designed to help young adults recognize and normalize stress, anger, and improve interactions with parents, siblings, teachers and friends.
Program registration will occur through June 2007.
The first workshop runs from July 5 – August 23 on Thursdays from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm and the second workshop runs from July 10 – August 28 on Tuesdays from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm in the Hermosa Beach office.

Program goals include: learning acceptable ways of controlling and expressing anger to avoid violent outbursts, gaining a better understanding of self, ways to effectively manage stress, and improve both emotional intelligence and communication skills. Participants will learn to develop a working understanding of anger / stress patterns and management, recognize the role of individual responsibility of changing unacceptable behavior, identify "situational" anger, and eliminate or minimize "person-directed" anger.

“I believe that if we can help our adolescents understand the power of positive stress and anger while in their relationship formative years, we can help them to have a better quality of life later as a result. Learning and integrating healthy communications patterns at a younger age makes understanding much easier in the long run”, says Anutza Bellissimo, CAMF.

SAMI Collaborates with Harbor Regional Center to Provide Services to People with Developmental Disabilities

Beverly Hills, CA  (May 8, 2007) –   The Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI) is now offering anger and stress management education to patients of the Harbor Regional Center (HCR) program for developmental disabilities. The HCR program is working with nearly 10,000 individuals of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds who are coping with conditions such as mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Each of these developmental disabilities can create stress and anger issues for the individual and their families. The collaboration between SAMI and HCR will initiate at HCR's Mental Health Resource Fair on May 30, 2007 at 21231 Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance, CA.

The focus of SAMI's program with HCR patients will be to identify potential communication problems, understand nonverbal communication cues, help families to recognize and normalize anger as well as find acceptable ways to channel the individual expression of anger, and eliminate or minimize "person-directed" anger.

“It is a tremendous opportunity for SAMI to work with the Harbor Regional Center patients and their families. Not only does it provide important information that can help keep a family together in a potentially stressful health situation, but it demonstrates SAMI's commitment to helping our community be emotionally strong and healthy", says Anutza Bellissimo.

SAMI Welcomes New Adolescent / Parent Communications Facilitator

Beverly Hills, CA  (May 2, 2007) –   Anutza Bellissimo, Founder of  the Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI), welcomes Cinzia Canale-Fossa as lead facilitator for group classes to facilitate adolescent and parent communications. Ms. Fossa brings to SAMI extensive experience in working with at-risk minors, young adults and parents from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and is well-versed in handling various developmental issues. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emerson College in Boston, MA, and completed her training at Antioch University in Marina del Rey, CA.

The adolescent / parent communications class is designed to help young adults and parents to recognize and normalize anger, find acceptable ways to channel the expression of anger, and improve emotional intelligence. Participants will learn to develop a working understanding of anger / stress patterns and management, recognize the role of individual responsibility of changing unacceptable behavior, identify "situational" anger, and eliminate or minimize "person-directed" anger.

“I am glad to welcome Cinzia Canale-Fossa to the SAMI group. Not only will her experience be of tremendous value to our clients, but her personal style is clear and compassionate. I look forward to positive outcomes with our young adult / parent communications classes as a result of her knowledgeable facilitation”, says Anutza Bellissimo.

SAMI Announces “Hot Moms” Gathering

Manhattan Beach, CA  (May 16, 2007) –   The Stress & Anger Management Institute (SAMI) is now offering a new moms group for South Bay area mothers, or “Hot Moms”. The focus of this group is “The Hot Moms Handbook” by Jessica Denay. “Hot Moms” are confident mothers who want to share in retaining their sense of style and sex appeal post-motherhood, and not surrender to the typical “mom” stereotype. Women will share experiences and advice, give support and make new friends. The first meeting will be June 15, 2007 at the Manhattan Beach Village Mall Restaurant, LA Food Show; the group offers support services for a monthly membership fee of $37.
SAMI’s primary work revolves around stress and anger management, educating about communications skills to transform clients’ ability to remain empowered in their relationships. This generally includes the identification of potential communication problems, understanding nonverbal communication cues, finding appropriate expression of emotional energy and eliminating self-sabotaging communications behaviors.

“The role of mothers in our society has been relegated to conformity with a standard from a different time in our culture. My intention is to give women the opportunity to express their feminine power and to minimize the dissonance between who women are and how they are expected to show up in their families and the world at large – a huge cause for the stress mothers feel on a day to day basis”, says Anutza Bellissimo,CAMF.
